XLCubed is now FluenceXL. The new wiki can be found here: https://help.fluencexl.com/

Azure Analysis Services

Azure server connections are specified in the following format.

asazure://region.asazure.windows.net/myinstancename

When you connect, XLCubed can authenticate with Azure SSAS in several ways.

By default it will attempt to use the credentials of the the current user. If you are using AzureAD then the authentication may happen automatically, otherwise you may be prompted to log in (e.g. if MFA is enabled).

You can also check the "Requires logon" option to specify a user name and password if that has been configured.

You can force web logon by selecting "Requires logon" and choosing "Web/MFA". This can be useful if you want to connect as a different user than the one logged into the PC.

Logging out

XLCubed will store the logon information for a server and reuse it to save repeated log on requests. You can clear this by pressing "Refresh Connections".

Although this clears the XLCubed stored info, the browser may also have stored Azure logon information. This means when the page opens to allow logon, it automatially signs you in and you don't have the chance to enter credentials. In this case you can log out of your Azure account using a web browser to ensure you are prompted when connecting.
